The MCU Just Set Up Its Best Way To Bring Doctor Strange’s Original Movie Villain Back 9 Years Later

The Hood is set to be a major villain in Ironheart, but the character has a longstanding comic book history with a Doctor Strange villain that could be interesting to explore in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Originally, in the comics, Parker Robbins is a low-level criminal who commits petty crimes in order to get by. However, it isn"t until he steals a pair of boots and a hood that have magical powers that he is able to take his criminal dealings to the next level.
While Parker initially doesn"t question why or how these powers manifest in his ill-acquired goods, he eventually learns that they are imbued with power from a terrible being from another dimension. By wearing them, Parker becomes a slave to this demon as The Hood, until he is eventually freed, and it seems like Ironheart may be looking to adapt this story in a way that is largely faithful to the comics that it originates from.

In order to try and find a cure, Strange travels the world, before discovering the mystic arts, and finding a new way to access the world around him. However, as he becomes familiar with the world of magic, a Dark Dimension is simultaneously opening up before him.

Dormammu was prepared to consume the world in that movie, but thanks to Strange"s quick thinking and the use of an Infinity Stone, he was able to repel the monster. But Dormammu remains somewhere out there in the depths of the multiverse, and The Hood"s arrival could indicate trouble brewing.
The Hood's MCU Story Looks Like It Could Use His Connection To Dormmamu The Hood's Powers Are Inherently Linked To Dormammu Close The Hood obviously has a connection to Dormammu in the comics, but the fact that the trailer for Ironheart shows this character with the same magical items, and appears to emit a dark powerful energy, it could be hinting at something bigger on the way. At the end of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the post-credits scene also revealed another new character with a connection to Dormammu, Clea. In the comics, Clea is the niece of Dormammu.
Considering the character of The Hood exists more in the mystical world of Marvel, it makes sense for his story to have some connection to Dormammu to follow the comic book origins, and the presence of characters like Clea suggest Dormammu"s story may not be over yet in the MCU. Especially considering th fact that Dormammu promised to leave Earth alone on Steven Strange"s command, but it remains a devourer of other worlds and realities, and the Multiverse Saga is coming to a close.
Why Exploring Dormmamu More Through The Hood Would Be For The Best For The MCU Dormammu Was Banished By Steven Strange, But He Could Still Have Influence In The MCU Close As the Multiverse Saga reaches its end, it"s worth looking at the many characters who have been introduced to date, and how each will be impacted. This includes villains, especially those who may be threatened by the death of the Multiverse. Dormammu is a powerful creature who has existed for an eternity, and his story was over before it began in Doctor Strange. Having The Hood serve as his vessel, and exploring the story further in this way would be an interesting way to tie in with earlier projects, and set up something interesting ahead of Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.
